My Art Studio started out of a simple belief: kids deserve more than a place to be watched while their parents run errands - they deserve a place to grow, through real art instruction taught with heart.

A young girl with long brown hair and bangs is focused on drawing and coloring on a large piece of paper with vibrant colors, using pastels or crayons, in an art classroom or studio.

As a mom of three, Kristin knows how hard it is to find activities that are actually enriching, not just a play place babysitting your kids. So she built one. Her own three kids are often right there in class alongside yours, and somehow, they never get tired of her lessons. That's because Kristin keeps every class fresh - weaving in stories of influential artists, and connecting each project to history and to what's happening in the world right now.

Today, My Art Studio is taught out of Kristin’s home art studio, with the same mission it started with: give kids a space to build real skills, explore big ideas, and see themselves as artists.

Meet Your InStructor

Hi, I'm Kristin. I’m the artist, teacher, and mom behind My Art Studio.

I'm a painter and actress based here in Los Angeles, originally from a small town called Hillsborough, New Jersey. I've been an artist since I was old enough to hold a crayon, and honestly, I've never stopped. Art has shaped how I see myself and the world around me, and it's been the thread running through everything I've done since.

I have a Bachelor of Arts from Sarah Lawrence College, and over the years I've built real depth in both realistic and abstract drawing and painting. But my teaching style comes from somewhere much closer to home: raising my own three kids. Watching them find their voice through art, and seeing how much it helps them feel confident, expressive, and truly themselves. This is what led me to open my studio doors to your kids, too.

Here's what I believe, and what I hope you'll feel from the moment your child walks into my studio: flexing our creativity doesn't just change how we see the world, it changes how we see ourselves. Getting out of our heads and into our hands has real power. It helps kids (grown-ups too) regulate their emotions, find calm, and feel more joy.

That's what I want for your child. Not just a fun hour once a week, but a place where they feel safe to explore, try, fail, and try again - and walk out a little more confident in who they are.

I hope to see you in the studio soon!

What We’re all about At My Art Studio

WHAT WE’RE ALL ABOUT

Inclusivity

Every kid is welcome here, whatever their background or skill level. There's no "right" way to make art - just your way.

CRAFTSMANSHIP

Fun doesn't mean fluff. Every project builds real, lasting skill in drawing, painting, and beyond.

CREATIVITY

We teach the skills, but kids decide where to take them. Their ideas are always the point.

INSPIRATION

Every lesson is rooted in art history and the work of real artists, so kids see themselves as part of something bigger.

CURIOSITY

We'd rather kids try something new and get messy than play it safe. Exploring matters more than getting it "right."

COMMUNITY

Small classes, familiar faces, and a warm studio where every kid feels safe to try, fail, and try again.
